Indy & Cologne Movies on HBO Max

source: Wikipedia

For those of you with an HBO Max subscription, there are coincidentally two feature length films available for streaming, connected to Indianapolis and Cologne respectively, for your enjoyment.

Eight Men Out (1988) starring John Cusack, Charlie Sheen, and Christopher Lloyd
This baseball movie, set around the scandalous 1919 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox, was filmed partially in Indianapolis, including such historic Indy locales as the Columbia Club, the Propylaeum, Bush Stadium, and the Athenaeum. This film is leaving HBO Max on January 31, 2022.

The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum (1975) starring Angela Winkler, Mario Adorf, and Dieter Laser
This political thriller is based on a novel of the same name by world-famous postwar German author and Cologne native Heinrich Böll. Set in beautiful Cologne during Carnival, this film addresses a number of issues that are strikingly relevant today, almost 50 years later: truth in journalism, terrorism, the surveillance state, and sexism.
